      Define method grid:gref* for histograms; it was a definition of
      grid:gref, but with the compiler macro that turns that into
      grid:gref*, we need it to be a definition of grid:gref* instead.
      Removed the definition of +foreign-array-pointer+ and
      +foreign-array-type+ to the grid package.

      3. Fix incorrect initial contents for matrix-transpose.
      Now the tests results on SBCL 64 bit, GSL 1.14 are the same as the
      master branch:

      grid/ and the c-array package.  This will make it accessible to
      non-GSLL foreign library interfaces, but the new location is a bit
      deceptive because a new method needn't be a subclass of foreign-array.

      Continuing the separation of definitions useful for any libraries
      using C arrays, foreign-array.lisp and foreign-friendly.lisp have been
      moved to the grid subdirectory and placed in the c-array package.
      All tests pass on SBCL 64,

      Almost all GSL structures are now defined using CFFI-grovel, which
      makes the code more robust should there be changes in GSL.  The
      exceptions are complex-float-c, complex-double-c, and
      simulated-annealing-parameters; because these structures are used by
      value, they need to be defined with fsbv:defcstruct at the present.

      Variables called using with-foreign-objects that are passed to GSL for
      the purposes of returning computed values (i.e., are not mentioned in
      the CL arglist) need to be declared (:pointer type) because they are
      calls by reference.  Everything now compiles though there are
      execution errors in the tests.

      The LU remultiplication tests now permute the answer at the end so
      that it ends up with the original vector with the elements in the
      original order.  The permutation functions #'permute and
      #'permute-inverse now include all arguments, including marrays and
      pointers to C arrays.  Formerely, there were separate functions
      #'permute-vector and #'permute-vector-inverse.
      SBCL64: TOTAL: 1451 assertions passed, 5 failed, 0 execution errors.

      Redefine #'copy so that it has one required argument (source) and one
      optional argument (destination).  For marrays, create a destination
      using make-marray, if one was not given, and then use the memcpy
      functions to fill the values.  For all other mobjects, copy will copy
      objects by calling one of two generic functions, #'copy-to-destination
      and #'copy-making-destination, depending on whether a destination was
      supplied.  The former is defined if a GSL _memcpy function exists.
      The latter will look for a GSL _clone function, then make a CL
      instance with the pointer returned as mpointer.  If there is no clone
      function, it will attempt to make a new object using make-load-form,
      so will fail if that method has not been defined.
      
      Added a check to defmfun that signals an error if a variable is used
      in the C arguments other than top-level that is not used in the CL
      arglist.  This should not happen and is usually an indication of a
      typo.

      and return :success-failure rather than :boolean.  In fact, it returns
      T or an error due to the design of the GSL functions; not clear if
      this is wanted on the GSL designers' part.  Passes SBCL 64 test.

      No 64 bit integers on 32 bit platforms · c057c7f3

      Both CLISP and SBCL fail when making arrays of 64 bit integers,
      despite cffi-features:no-long-long being absent for either.
      Therefore, conditionalize away these types in *array-element-types* on
      32 bit platforms in general, and conditionalize away all the 64 bit
      tests as well.  Separated out integer size check into types.lisp.
      Restored tests vector-min and vector-max which fail in SBCL for
      (signed-integer 8) and (signed-integer 16) for unknown reasons. 
      Test results:
      64 bit SBCL:   TOTAL: 1223 assertions passed, 5 failed, 0 execution errors.
      64 bit CCL:    TOTAL: 1228 assertions passed, 0 failed, 0 execution errors.
      32 bit SBCL:   TOTAL: 1069 assertions passed, 31 failed, 0 execution errors.
      32 bit CLISP:  TOTAL: 1051 assertions passed, 27 failed, 5 execution errors.

      Split off the class definition for foreign-array into its own file
      along with applicable definitions.  Make permutations and combinations
      direct subclasses of both foreign-array and marray, but not subclasses
      of vectors.  All these classes now have initialize-instance :after
      methods that allocate and set the pointers and finalizers.  All tests
      pass.

      A somewhat comprhensive attempt to make sure :inputs, :outputs, and
      :return arguments in defmfuns match what the function is expecting and
      will return, so that non-native implementations will work correctly
      for copying, and native ones will work correctly for pinning.  The
      :return argument now defaults to :outputs in most circumstances.

      Instead of making the ffa in make-array*, we now make it in the
      initialize-instance :after method for gsl-data.  This means that
      subclasses (permutations, combinations) will automatically make the
      arrays.  Rewrote make-array* so that it is just a wrapper for
      make-instance, computing the dimensions from the specified initial
      parameters.  Permutations and combinations are now made with make-*
      functions.

      GSL arrays are garbage-collected objects, and so can be made like any
      other lisp object; they do not need to be make inside a wrapper form.
      #m is a macro which makes them; it expands to a #'make-array* call.
      Examples and usage ported to this new form.  Compiled only; not tested
      yet.  No effort to port to non-native implementation yet; tests as
      expanded in the tests/ directory are not ported yet.
