Support for quicklisp style sources with no "-versions" file

I've noticed that some quicklisp distributions don't have a "-versions" file as required by clpm. I suppose that ideally the maintainers of those distributions should be encouraged to provide one. However, what are your thoughts on adding the ability to work with those distributions to clpm for the sake of compatibility (and to make clpm closer to a drop-in replacement to quicklisp)?

Some examples of such distributions are:

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
