Move get-system-info to C
get-system-info
is implemented all over in each foo-os.lisp file. The code all uses unix:unix-getrusage
to obtain the user time, system time, and number of page faults. This is used by time
in and hemlock.
We can remove the duplication by having get-system-info
in C to handle all the OS-dependent stuff. (A quick glance at bsd-os.lisp, linux-os.lisp and sunos-os.lisp shows that the actual implementation of get-system-info
is the same although the style is different.)
This is the only place in cmucl that uses unix:unix-getrusage
, so doing this allows us to remove unix:unix-getrusage
from the code base. (Well, we'll probably remove it from unix.lisp and move it to src/contrib/unix/unix.lisp.)
